A short distance from the peace and quiet of the countryside, there is a world of opportunity: by boat, you can sail from one island to another to enjoy the pristine beaches or have fun doing competitive sailing. Sports enthusiasts can try windsurfing and kitesurfing in nearby Porto Pollo or enjoy a game of golf, while those who cannot do without luxury and high society can go to Porto Cervo, a half-hour drive from Frafiledu.
Finally, while Sardinia is known worldwide for its beautiful blue sea, its hinterland also reveals unexpected wonders: the Gallura area offers beautiful landscapes, dotted with rock formations that are unique as well as being vestiges of an ancient past.
Wind-sculpted rocks and emerald waters: not surprisingly Sardinia’s sea is one of the most famous in the world. A few kilometres from the estate there are a myriad of famous islands such as Budelli, Spargi, Lavezzi, Cavallò, along with many other less famous but no less beautiful ones. By boat, you can sail, in just a few minutes, from one pristine cove to another, for a regenerating swim.
The Frafiledu estate, along with its magnificent villas, also has a large farm in which animals are bred, grain is grown, exquisite cheeses and eggs are produced and grapes and fresh vegetables are grown in our gardens, all in the name of absolute authenticity and sustainability.
A short distance from Frafiledu is the Bay of Porto Pollo, one of the most important in Europe for fans of windsurfing and kitesurfing, with good schools for taking lessons or renting equipment.
Sardinia, however, does not only offer water sports: golf lovers can choose from two of the best golf courses in the area - Pevero in Porto Cervo and Cape Sperone in the strait of Bonifacio in southern Corsica, which can be reached in 30 minutes by ferry.
In addition, we can arrange pleasant walks or horse riding excursions through the beautiful unspoilt countryside of Gallura, accompanied by the most delicious scents and views.
For many people, a holiday in Sardinia is synonymous with relaxation and a clear blue sea. However, sometimes it is worth walking away from the beaches to discover the ancient history of this fascinating region.
For example, if you set off from Frafiledu you can explore Neolithic ruins and Romanesque churches. For those interested, we arrange day trips by bus.
If you want a social life, just take the car and in half an hour you can reach the popular resort of Porto Cervo, in the heart of the Costa Smeralda. Here in the summer you can experience the international jet set lifestyle, with parties and yachts. All the most important brand stores can be found here, for real luxury shopping. For the more typical and simple purchases, we recommend heading to the market stalls of San Pantaleo, every Thursday.
